Good morning, friends and loyal followers of Headphone Commute. I don’t always speak to you directly on here. I reserve that type of content for a more personal space, which I’m slowly building over here. But today I wanted to reach out and share with you a track from my upcoming release on Bigo & Twigetti, titled Gradiscence. As I have mentioned many times in the past, all these years of writing have built up a muscle for these honest words, yet I still can’t self-promote my albums. So I will not steal your time to do that today. Instead, I will tell you a bit about a track I want to share. The original piece came from my strong desire to battle anxiety. During those terrible moments, I felt helpless, as if chained by an invisible force, held down, unable to be, both mentally and physically. This piece, which I titled “Break Out”, was composed exactly two years ago, and I used it as a reminder that life is short, and although reality does not often match our expectations, it is nevertheless fluid and bendable, and we can, if we put our minds to it, break out from its imaginary grip. Break out from the suffocation of other projections, break out from hurtful delusions, break out from the strong hold of our past. Break out so that we can breathe again. Break out so that we can be…
This is an extended version of the original piece, nearly twice as long, in which I allowed the progression to match my emotion. The original, along with a few solo piano pieces, is out this Friday, April 17th. You can stream or download your copy on Bandcamp.
Thank you for reading this and for connecting with my music.
