Good morning and happy Sunday. I have some thoughts to share with you. I can no longer tell if these posts are helpful to anyone. I know that the artists and labels featured here appreciate this broadcast, but beyond that, I’m starting to question if anyone cares. I acknowledge that this site is still visited regularly, although, admittedly, it’s increasingly being bombarded by bots scraping the content to train their AI. Does anyone read music reviews any longer? Does anyone care about human-curated recommendations? Or are we slipping into a sad state of being where models drive everything? This is becoming more obvious to me every day. Note that I am not against it, and I use AI almost every day (not in writing, of course), but as our reliance on this technology increases, we need to invest all we have in relationships that truly matter. This is what will make us human. Perhaps that is why I continue to pour my time and energy into Headphone Community. Maybe this is why I’m beginning to notice such a stark contrast between this site and that intimate space where we get to know our favourite musicians. Speaking of which, for the entire month of October, I will be featuring none other than Dennis Huddleston, known to many as 36. I hope to see you there.
